Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Elizabeth’s Pet Sitting. By booking my pet-sitting services, you (“the Client”) agree to the following terms and conditions. 

 

1. Services Provided 

I offer pet-sitting, dog walking, and other agreed-upon pet care services. The Client is responsible for providing detailed pet care instructions before services begin. 

 

2. Client Responsibilities 

The Client must provide accurate pet care details and emergency contacts and disclose any medical or behavioral issues. 

All pets must be up-to-date on vaccinations and free of contagious diseases or parasites. 

The Client agrees to provide safe access to their home for scheduled visits. 

 

3. Booking, Payment & Cancellations 

Payment is due after services are rendered unless otherwise agreed. 

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service may be subject to a cancellation fee of $25. 

 

4. Liability & Indemnification 

I take every precaution to keep pets safe, but I am not responsible for accidents, illnesses, or injuries that occur during my care. 

The Client releases me from any claims related to pet behavior, injuries, or property damage that occur while under my care. 

I am not responsible for damage caused by the Client’s pet(s) to their home or others. 

 

5. Emergency Veterinary Care 

If a pet requires urgent medical attention, I will attempt to contact the Client immediately. If unreachable, I will seek veterinary care at the Client’s expense. 

The Client agrees to cover all veterinary costs incurred during my care. 

 

6. Aggressive or Unmanageable Pets 

I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services for pets that show signs of aggression or pose a risk to my safety. 

If a pet becomes unmanageable, the Client must arrange alternative care immediately. 

7. Inclement Weather & Natural Disasters 

In case of extreme weather (snowstorms, wildfires, etc.), I will make every effort to provide care, but service may be delayed or canceled for safety reasons. 

If I am unable to reach the pet, the Client must have an emergency backup plan. 

 

8. Key Handling & Home Access 

The Client may provide a key, garage code, or other secure access method. 

If I am locked out due to a faulty key or security system, the Client must provide an alternative entry method. Additional fees may apply for extra visits due to lockouts. 

If the Client requests that I leave a key in an unsecured location (e.g., under a doormat), I am not responsible for lost or stolen keys. 

 

9. Dog Walking & Public Spaces 

Unless otherwise requested, I will walk dogs individually (not in group walks). 

I will always use a leash unless the Client provides written consent to allow off-leash exercise in a secure area. 

I am not responsible for injuries or incidents that occur during public outings. 

 

10. Photo & Social Media Policy 

I may take photos of pets in my care for updates, social media, or promotional use. 

The Client may opt-out by contacting me or providing written consent.

 

11. Third-Party Responsibility 

I am the sole caregiver unless the Client authorizes another person (e.g., a neighbor or family member) to assist with pet care. 

I am not responsible for issues arising from third-party interactions with the pet. 

 

12. Governing Law 

The laws of Colorado govern these terms. 

 

13. Overnight Stays & Extended Care 

Overnight pet-sitting services begin no earlier than 9:30 AM and end at 10:30 AM on the final day, unless otherwise agreed upon between myself and the Client. 

The Client must provide a safe, clean, and comfortable sleeping area for me during overnight stays. 

If I feel unsafe due to unexpected circumstances (e.g., unauthorized guests, unsafe conditions, or emergencies), I reserve the right to terminate the stay early and request an alternative care plan. 

If a pet requires frequent attention during the night (e.g., medication, potty breaks, separation anxiety), the Client must disclose this in advance to ensure proper care arrangements. 

The Client agrees to provide access to necessary household amenities (e.g., cleaning products, WiFi, temperature control). 

I may perform my regular dog-walking, drop-in, and in special circumstances, daycare services while staying overnight. If this is a concern, the Client must communicate their expectations in advance. 

If the Client returns later than the agreed-upon end time, additional fees may apply for extended care. 

 

14. Home Security & Guest Policy 

The Client must provide clear instructions on how to secure the home, including alarm systems, door locks, and any special requirements. 

I will not allow any unauthorized guests into the Client’s home during my stay. 

If anyone other than me (e.g., housekeepers, family members, maintenance workers) will be entering the home during my stay, the Client must disclose this in advance. 

I am not responsible for any loss, damage, or security breaches that occur due to third-party access to the home. 

 

15. Emergency Contacts & Backup Plan 

The Client must provide at least one emergency contact in case of unexpected situations. 

If an emergency prevents me from completing my stay (e.g., personal illness, family emergency, or severe weather), I will notify the Client immediately and assist in finding alternative care if needed. 

In case of a home emergency (e.g., fire, break-in, power outage), I will follow the Client’s instructions or contact emergency services if necessary. 

 

16. Refunds  

Clients may cancel services at least 24 hours in advance without penalty. 

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled service may result in a cancellation fee of $25, due upon the next booking. 

If a Client returns home early, they are still responsible for the full agreed-upon amount. 

If I must cancel due to an emergency, the Client will not be charged, and I will assist in arranging alternative care if needed. 

 

17. Agreement 

The Client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions by booking my services.
