Our Story
Happy Paws Pet Sitting was founded in 2009 by John French, whose lifelong love of dogs and cats became the heart of a business pet parents have trusted for nearly two decades.

What began as a simple desire to care for animals quickly grew into something more. John discovered that thoughtful, dependable pet sitting could make a real difference for both pets and their people. When he brought Happy Paws to the South Denver area, he built the company around one clear philosophy: pets deserve reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy care in the comfort of their own homes.

Over the past 17 years, John’s commitment to quality care, consistency, and genuine compassion helped Happy Paws earn the trust of hundreds families and pets throughout the South Denver metro area. His standards shaped not only the services offered, but the culture of the team behind them. Those same values continue to guide Happy Paws today.
Owner Elizabeth Humston
Elizabeth brings a lifelong love of animals and a strong professional background to her role as owner of Happy Paws Pet Sitting. Before entering the pet care industry full time, she built her career as a news producer and in fast-paced corporate environments, where reliability, clear communication, and attention to detail were essential. Those same standards now guide the daily operations of Happy Paws.

Her passion for pet care began early. As a child, Elizabeth made handmade flyers offering pet sitting services in her neighborhood, a reflection of what would become a lifelong calling. Raised with springer spaniels trained for field trials, she developed an early appreciation for training, structure, and understanding a pet's individual needs.
In 2025, Elizabeth founded Elizabeth’s Pet Sitting and has since cared for over 100 pets across more than 60 client households, gaining hands-on experience with a wide range of personalities, routines, and care requirements.

As the new owner of Happy Paws Pet Sitting, Elizabeth is dedicated to maintaining the philosophy established by founder John French, providing reliable, conscientious, and trustworthy care while treating every pet as her own. Clear communication, consistency, and transparency remain central to the experience she provides for both pets and their people.
